Rescuers, disaster and "librarians"?

Na první pohled se může zdát, že knihovníci mají pramálo společného se záchranáři a děním kolem mimořádných událostí a katastrof. Domnívám se ovšem, že právě specialisté na informace mohou významně přispět ke koordinaci pomoci při záchranných akcích. Vždyť v jaké jiné oblasti jsou tak potřeba rychlé, relevantní a jasně strukturované informace, jako při záchraně lidských životů? Kdo by měl lépe shromažďovat informace pro následné analýzy a závěry pro zlepšení do budoucna? A kdo by měl mít lepší informace o nejnovějších technologiích a možnostech jejich využití pro přenos informací než právě odborníci na informace? Na několika příkladech si uvedeme, jak mohou knihovníci kooperovat na vývoji "záchranáře budoucnosti", pomoci se systémy pro koordinaci pomoci při katastrofách velkého rozsahu nebo testovat nové technologie pro efektivní využití v praxi.

EMS in the region of Liberec and its connection with helicopter emergency medical services

The bachelor thesis aims to research all aspects of the emergency medical services of Liberec. At the beginning I referred to requirements, which result from the law not just for EMS of Liberec, but also for all the others. This part we could divide into parts, depending on the content. Main subjects are emergency first aid characteristics, emergency cars types, mass disasters information, telematics or integrated rescue system. Next part of the bachelor thesis is focused especially on region of Liberec and mainly on ground emergency medical services, helicopter emergency medical services with the Special operations group. In both ground and air services are presented analysis of rescue operations or other data, which map the work of EMS (or at least single operation centres).

Functioning and cooperation of integrated rescue service to solve emergencies which might happen at the hydroengineering structures of Hněvkovice and Kořensko.

In my work I try to documentate problematic issues concerning the functioning and coordination of integrated rescue service when these have to solve emergency situations which might happen during the operation of the Hněvkovice and Kořensko hydroengineering structures (VD). These water structures were the work result of hydroengineering supervisors in the Czech Republic as a part of so called The Vltava Cascade. The both dams came into existence as an important element connected with the construction of The Nuclear Power Plant of Temelín. Water for cooling the reactor of this nuclear power plant is pumped from the Hněvkovice hydroengineering structure. In connection with the existence of the Hněvkovice water scheme, there had to be built up the Kořensko hydroengineering structure which solves hygiene-aesthetic problems in the area of the Vltava river flow through the town of Týn nad Vltavou and it also maintains the water level stability of this river between these both dams. From the safety point of view, these structures have been regarded by the crisis management of the Czech Republic as a serious matter of danger for the inhabitants living along the river. Therefore it is especially stressed the importance of the integrated rescue service and the operating personnel of these water structures to be aware and ready for any emergencies. I concentrated on the risks chart which might happen here. As a particular example I chose a possibility when accidently hydroaulic oil got off from the Hněvkovice hydroengineering structure. I dealt with the organization and procedures how to resolve such an emergency and I analysed the readiness for threatening risks at these hydroengineering structures.
